Lake Louise Hotels
The village of Lake Louise and the town of Banff are the two main places to find lodging in Banff National Park. While Lake Louise is considerably smaller than Banff, there is still a good variety of accommodation to be found here. Lake Louise hotels are either located at the Lake itself or closer to the village, a short 5 min drive away. There is some unique accommodation on the outskirts of Lake Louise, within a 15 minute radius, which we have also included here.
If you are touring the Canadian Rockies you will probably also be interested in researching lodging in Banff, Jasper Alberta Hotels, and Canmore hotels. You can find lodging information and much more at the following travel guides: www.banff.mobi, www.jasperalberta.mobi, and www.canmore.mobi.
Lake Louise lodging options include hotels, mountain cabins, and backcountry lodges, and the information below should help you find your ideal place to stay.
Lake Louise Hotels & Lodges
When looking for a hotel in Lake Louise you should first decide whether you prefer to be close to the village or by the Lake. There is only one hotel actually on the Lake, the luxurious Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, however you don’t have to stay there to walk along the shores of Lake Louise and enjoy the spectacular views, world class hiking or a canoe ride. Also, Moraine Lake Lodge is another option for lakeside accommodation, on the shores of spectacular Moraine Lake, just 14km from Lake Louise.
Lake Louise hotels range from affordable and rustic to some of the best hotels in Canada, but no matter where you choose to stay, you are sure to receive a warm welcome.
Inns & Motels
Staying at an inn or motel in Lake Louise may be a more affordable option than a Lake Louise hotel, particularly because your room will usually include kitchen facilities and a living area which will give you the opportunity to eat in rather than dine out. This type of self catering accommodation is very popular with families and guests on a longer stay.

Chalets & Cabins
Staying in a mountain chalet in the Canadian Rockies is a romantic idea which can easily become a reality in Lake Louise. These cabins will tend to offer a kitchen and living area plus a fireplace for those cool mountain evenings.
Hostels
Staying at a hostel is a great way to stay in Lake Louise on a budget. The accommodation is clean, of a good standard, and popular with hikers, skiers and backpackers.
Campgrounds & RV
The selection and standard of campgrounds in and around Lake Louise is excellent, and many of them offer views far superior to some of the best hotels in Banff National Park. It is no surprise that camping is extremely popular in the Canadian Rockies and we strongly recommend that you reserve campsites in advance, especially during the peak summer season of July and August.
Many campgrounds offer full RV hook ups, making them ideal for those touring western Canada in an RV or motor home.

Backcountry Lodges
Staying at a backcountry lodge is the perfect way to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in a spectacular natural setting. The backcountry lodges close to Lake Louise are accessed on foot or by private shuttle bus, or on skis in the winter. You cannot drive there with your own vehicle, which is part of the appeal.
The accommodation is rustic, meals are provided, and the lodges are perfect bases for hiking, backcountry skiing, or to simply admire nature.
